Maestro C and INRAD M-629/DMS-1 Base

Member ✭✭

I recently bought the following from FlexRadio to use with my Maestro C:

INRAD M-629 with DMS-1 Base

Site faviconINRAD DMS-629 desk microphone – FlexRadio

INRAD DM-F Adapter Cable

Site faviconINRAD DM-F 3.5mm TRS + RCA Cable – FlexRadio

Microphone keying from the INRAD base works fine with the Maestro C, but not the microphone audio. I have tried every combination of adapters and settings I can think of, and I simply cannot get any audio to pass! The instructions read that this should be as simple as connecting the TRS connector on the DM-F adapter cable to the microphone side of the Maestro Y cable… but no dice.

The FHM-3 hand mic works great, but I prefer the desktop microphone. That, and, after paying over $200 for the microphone, base, and adapter cable, it would be nice to have something more than a paperweight 🤣

Has anyone able to make this combination work or suggest what might be going wrong?

that occasionally happens th me and last time it was because I somehow switched the switch on top of the mic off, I never use it but…

The only other thing I’ve done is to be in the digu mode instead if USB.

I think that the problem is that the Maestro C takes a TRRS (CTIA standard) plug, not a TRS plug. I think that you also need another Y cable to break out the mic and headphones, but I am not sure. I would contact the Flex Help Desk, they will know what you need.
