Maestro recognizes iPhone hotspot but will not accept password

Member ✭✭

The Maestro (second generation) recognizes the iphone Hotspot. However, it will not accept the hotspot password. Syntax was carefully checked and tried numerous times. Tried a friend's Android hotspot and all connects fine. Does the password have to have any special requirements for the Maestro to recognize it.

Any suggestions appreciated. SmartLink account is properly registered.

Changed the password and works fine. Sorry for the bandwidth.

No apology needed. Someone else may have the same situation and this may help them.

I have had this problem. In my case it was the apostrophe in the SSID. The iPhone names the device with an 's by default and it becomes the SSID. I removed the apostrophe from the iPhone name which also removes it from the SSID and all is well.

Thanks so much. That is what I couldn’t remember.

I just got hit with this also: my iPhone SSID contained an apostrophe. All my Apple. Android, Linux and FireOS stuff happily connect to my iPhone HotSpot; I wonder why Windows suffers still from this years-old issue? Because the apostrophe causes no other problems elsewhere, I naturally do not consider this as the first source of the problem.

I have same issue but changing the hotspot password did not solve the problem.
