Managed versus unmanaged ethernet switches
I just bought a Power Genius Amp and Tuner Genius Antenna Tuner. My Router doesn't have any more ethernet Ports. So I need to buy Ethernet switch. The question I am not sure about is should I buy a plug and play Managed switch or an unmanaged switch for all the equipment to talk with each other. I do plan to connect the switch through the Router. The Router I am currently using is the D-Link DIR-880L. Thanks for every ones help

You only need a managed switch if you want to segment your network so some equipment does not see the traffic from others. Most managed switches have VLAN capability to split your network up. Of course most managed switches also allow you to monitor your network to some degree, and if you want that, you’ll need a managed switch.
Go with a capable, inexpensive non-managed switch.

I removed the 1 gig switch I was using and replaced it with a 100mb switch much better network performance with the flex/SDR
