Listening to remote Flex while driving ?

Is it unreasonable to expect one to be able to listen to a home based Flex while driving around in a car , using a cell phone 5G service for internet access ? I tried it a couple of times and I usually lose connection after 5-10 seconds. Using the SmartSDR IOS app. I was thinking that I stream music via the internet while driving and that works perfectly. Then I realized that the streaming music is coming from servers with much better upload capability than my little residential ISP makes available (400Mbps down, 22 Mbps UP) .

    Hi Andy, it is less about the upload capacity and more about buffering. Streamed audio and video may be several seconds behind, but it doesn't matter because with big buffers, you get the content in the desired order. Since these services are receive-only, you only detect the delay at the beginning.

    With the near real-time audio requirement from the Flex, big buffers and the corresponding huge latency is not an option. Otherwise it would be like the audio delays experienced by the astronauts on the moon. You would have to wait for a response from the other station before you transmit again. This delay would likely be measured in seconds, not milliseconds.

    I've operated a fair amount while operating mobile over 4G rather successfully. The biggest problem was on the freeway and being hemmed in by trucks or under large bridges getting the connection to drop. I have not tried 5G yet.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
