How do I connect to a local radio on a different VLAN segment?

I have my 6400 on a different VLAN at home. Same physical infrastructure, but a different segment.
On SmartSDR for Mac this is no problem. I can specify a manual IP for the 6400 and connect directly. It appears that with SmartSDR for Windows, I can only reach the 6400 over Smartlink. Is this true?

Thanks, David, for confirming this.
So, to answer my question: With the Windows version of SmartSDR, you can only reach a radio on the other side of a router using SmartLink. With the Mac version you can reach the radio if you know its IP address.

I assume you mean two VirtualLans (VLAN).
The Mac must have ethernet or WiFi connections to each of the VLANS.
If your Windows PC only has one ethernet connection, add an external ethernet adapter (ethernet to USB adapter for example), and plug this into the second VLAN, as set up on your managed switch, or source of the other LAN (two routers for example).
Or, if you have the SSID for WiFi mapped to each VLAN, create two separate WiFi connections, one to each SSID/VLAN.

You should be able to route traffic between the VLANs. Here is a sample of a search on Google, but it will depend on your network device for setup.

Thanks, but routing is not an issue. However, only IP will route and I assume SmartSDR “finds” the radio using something else that doesn’t route.
as I say, this is. It a problem with the Mac version as you can specify the IP address of the radio. However, I can’t find how to do this in the Windows version.

The Windows version listens for discovery packets which are broadcast on the LAN. The discovery packets are non-routable.
