downgrade from 3.3.32 on 6400M

In upgrading, I followed the release note directions to upgrade SSDR, then the radio through SSDR and lastly to upgrade the display - on a 6400M.

The update has made CAT and DAX so unreliable, what is the proper procedure to downgrade back to 3.3.29? Is there a particular downgrade order to unwind the update?

I seem to understand I can't easily downgrade without trouble to 3.2.39 - the last update that seemed to run relatively trouble free?

After doing the downgrade you MUST do FACTORY RESET.

So, to go from 3.3.32 to 3.3.29, I have to factory reset the radio?

What's the point of the version selection screen at every boot? Clearly there are versions on there that are unusable without considerable effort; such as factory reset.

    thank you for the response

The Select a Version screen need not appear with every boot. Touch the little gear in the lower left corner of the Select a Version screen. Then enable “Auto Connect.”

so, to be clear, I cannot just select 3.3.29 on the radio and open 3.3.29 SSDR on my computer instead of 3.3.32?

You can select v3.3.29. But, when you do, the update ( or down grade in this case) process will start. Once it goes thru the process and finishes, you should be fine.

This happens because the update is almost all in the radio firmware, where the processing occurs. SmartSDR on the pc, Mac or whatever just visualizes the state of the radio at a rate based on the fps setting.
