ATU comes on in v3.3.32

Member ✭✭✭

My only problem with 3.3.32 so far is. Every time I change bands the ATU comes on. I never use the ATU. It's useless. How do I disable it? Short of removing it from the rig.

My 6600M doesn’t do that with 3.3.32 (and I find the ATU quite useful). If a cold boot doesn’t help, I suggest a support ticket.

Did a little testing. The front panel of my 6400M shows a green ATU button. I thought that meant the ATU was active. Apparently not. When I look at the status in SSDR it shows "success/byp/mem". I am running in SmartControlMode. Before the update it didn't show a green button in ATU. It just confused me. It's behavior changed. All is good.

From Sec 25.3 of the 3-year-old (Sept 2019) 6400M/6600M User Guide: “The ATU button will illuminate in green when a match is found resulting in an SWR better than the match criteria for the band. This includes Bypass mode when the antenna system is well matched.” The match criterion is 1.7:1 on bands other than 6m, where it is 2.32:1.

What I am saying is. The button was always dark before this update. I don't want it to tune a solid state amplifier. A MercuryIIIS.

Try pressing and holding the ATU button to turn it off completely.

I was advised by a FB administrator to also turn off the memories.

    TNX everybody!
