Flex 6400 in Eighteen Wheeler

I’m currently running flex 6400 locally in my semi truck. Wonder if anyone else doing this? KI4IRS

I have ran several different radios in an 18 wheeler over the last 50 years. But, all were mobile rigs. I would think using an SDR while driving would be a bit dangerous. I assume you use your 6400 when parked. That could be fun.

    Stay safe.

Hi Ovrjsamp... I'm assuming (hoping) that you're running a 6400M (built-in monitor) in the truck. Otherwise, how would you be running the laptop -- from what power supply? (I'm not aware of commercially available laptops that run on 12V... but I've been proven wrong MANY times in my life :-))

Slightly ot but there are mobile power supplies available for many laptops, or inverters that convert www dc to 115 vac for the normal ps. Many (I think most) truckers already have an inverter.
