PGXL T/R Relays

When using the PGXL on 160-10 meters there is a very slight click when going from Rx to TX but on 6 meters it sounds like someone tripped over a pile of tin cans... is this normal? If so why?

No, not normal. I have the same click sound going from RX to TX on any band.

I do have a separate issue. When making a 15 second transmission at 1 KW on FT8, I hear a click every couple of seconds once the temperature reaches 60C. Then a couple of clicks when the fan cools the amp down. I interpret this to be thermal expansion and contraction of some part of the amplifier. This is after the 3rd month of usage. Never recall hearing it the first 2 months. When idle or standby, no clicks.

TNX.. ill send in a ticket....... the amp on 6 meters is very different than on any other band.. heats up almost instantly and has low output... If I turn up mu 6700 to full output I get about 900 from the amp but the fans drive me out of the room...VERY noisy

With 50 watts out of my 6600, I easily get 1200 out of PGXL on 6 meters.

With 60 watts out of my 6600, I get 1500 out of the PGXL on 6 meters.

For FT8, I usually keep it around 800 watts on 6 meters.

Mine is 3 months old. When did you get yours?

Nice to work you on 6m. yesterday!
