6400M -- "Please wait ... "

Received a brand new 6400M on Dec. 10. What a great radio! Until yesterday, a mere 8 days later, when it fails to boot and gives me the "Please wait ..." screen. Tried a reset, which didn't help. I run the radio stand-alone, using the latest software (3.1.12). When an expensive new piece of equipment fails after less than two weeks, you can't help but feel very disappointed. Have started a service request but given that this happened on a Friday I won't hear anything for a few days and am hoping Flex hasn't shut down from the Christmas break. (And another element of great timing: the failure happened just as I was about to start working the Radio Amateurs of Canada Winter Contest.) I love the radio, and I'm sure my problem will be taken care of, but I'm very disappointed that Flex would sell a high-end product that is known to be (based on the other postings I have seen) so unstable

I have had my 6400M for close to 2 years. On occasion the radio locks up on start-up and the solution has been to completely disconnect the power supply from the radio and then restarting the radio after reconnecting. This solution has been posted in the past. It may be worth giving it a try.
