SSDR is is being developed, and things are being worked on.

Also noise mitigation can not be a simple thing as a patch. It touches on many parts of the software and takes a lot of coding and testing. It is a large project to accomplish.

Gerald has explained in great detail how they decide on what gets worked on. I will summarize them.

Things that are included into any release start by how important they are. They can be something that is a nuisance, something in the bug tracker, or something considered critical, meaning something that stops the radio from performing or working.

Then they think about what kind of things they want to add, what resources they need, man hours to complete, and can it be ready for the next release? sometimes the things they plan to work on are scrubbed in the middle of work because of things can come up that was not planned on. I have not covered all the factors involved.

@KB6QXM - FRS also caters to the commercial communications market (see: https://www.flexradio.com/commercial/, which can be much more lucrative than the amateur radio market. It's my guess that the bulk of FRS resources have perhaps turned more toward the commercial communications market. Time will tell.
