Experimenting with DTMF

Is there a way to listen to the microphone audio at the radio when using the Maestro?
I would like to try some simple remote control functions using DTMF while operating with the Maestro. I would turn the RF to 1-3 watts at the Maestro and then acoustically couple the DTMF tones into the handheld mic.
At the radio end I want to remove the tones and then decoding them is easy. I thought it would be as simple as using the headphone jack at the radio but while using the Maestro I hear nothing at the radio. Any ideas ??

    Jim, Hang a cheap 10 meter (or any receiver) with an attenuator (or other loose coupling) to the xcvr port and transmit to it. Touch tones available at receiver. You can also use a Yaesu mobile mic that has a Touch-Tone built in to eliminate extra TT encoder and acoustical coupling. There’s probably a much better way but I can’t think of one ATM... And the Maestros in the cold truck and I won’t be in the shack to experiment till late. Good Luck!

    It is coming up on two years since I asked this question so I thought I would try again.

    Is there a way to monitor the transmitted audio at the radio when using the maestro?

    Hi Jim, you can use full duplex (FDX) to listen. You need to change either TX or RX antenna. An approach would be to open a second panadapter, set TX to Xvtr and set FDX on. Set the frequency of both slices to be the same. Now whatever you send at very low power over the xvtr port will be picked up by the slice receiver on your main antenna port. As a bonus, you will not be transmitting on an antenna.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
