True. This is a bad experience. fast logging on with your Maestro is not possible. If you do it fast and fail, you´ll update to an older software... This should be an easy change. 73

Len is correct just add the 0's as place holders and the versions will sort properly and people will be able to determine visually which one is newer!

It is how some people look at numbers.  In this case he did not take into account the dot separators, and that each number between is a separate level of the version.

Probably would have been clearer to denote the earlier version as  Ver. 3.1.08, rather than 3.1.8. Then once you get past ".09",  it follows logically in order as 3.1.10,   3.1.11, 3.1.12, etc.

This was a correction, not an addition. Nothing new was added. There is more ambiguity between the first and second number. How much new, begets a full revision  valuation in the first number?

That has more to to with the ambiguity of sorting routines.  But our eyes should see the proper relationship as denoted for version numbering’s.

The ability to start SmartSDR immediately is a current implementation, just needs to be selected in config in the startup window.  After the first shutdown it will start SDR immediately with no selection window.
