Set Up New E-Mail Notification

OK, if I flag a discussion, I get an email when a new message is added to the discussion.

How do I set up receiving an e-mail with all "new" discussions, or new "catagory", so I know to go to the web site and flag it?

Not sure my terminology is correct, but you get the idea?

If you select the Category view from the top banner, open a Category you are interested in. Beside the category name is a "Follow" icon. Click on it,

If you want to follow a specific post, when you open the post there is a small "ribbon" (bookmark) at the top right hand side. Click on it and it turns blue and that bookmarks that post so you get updates without having to comment on it.
