Smart SDR opens in 2 windows

I typically use my 6400 with a Maestro. I was doing some microphone testing for use with my HP laptop and had 2 panadapters open with full-duplex. Since doing that every time I re-open Smart SDR 3.1.12 the panadapter is separate from the controls and I need to re-position the panadapter over the blank space where it was previously. to see both at the same time. I can see there a 2 separate windows and can't seem to combine into one.
What am doing wrong?

    Phil,
    In the upper right corner of the control panel is an arrow. If the windows are separated, click on it and they will merge into one. Click again when they are merged to display separate windows. Here is what it looks like:
