1:1 VSWR on the 40m Band, high VSWR on 80m

Member

I am running a StepIR Mark IV mast antenna with 80m coil kit and Flex 6700&&SDR Suite.
When I Tx on the 40m band I can frequency offset my SDA off of autotrack such that I can adjust the frequency to unity 1:1 VSWR. I have loopback and dummy load outputs that I can verify with my Flex6700 100W RF Power just to ensure 1:1 VSWR. at 8.55 MHz on the SDA100 I am getting a 1:1 VSWR at 8.0MHz in the SSDR suite. I am setting a frequency SDA offset so that in SDR I will maintain proper VSWR so as to not burn out PGXL amp with resonance.

I need to be able to maintain 1:1 VSWR transmit on other frequencies! Anyone run into something similar?

8 MHz? What band is that?

That'd be 37.5m to be precise...
I am constructing an experimental radio and looking for someone who has added in a balun or alternately something better than a frequency offset. There is a frequency changing impedance Gamma Load that resonates at the <6MHz mark.
