Frequency stability relationship to tuning

For the tech types? How does an oscillator TXCO drift of +/- 0.5ppm translate into a frequency output shift in hertz? Trying to decide how necessary the GPS option is....

It's really not necessary unless you like to do Frequency Measuring Tests. There is an auto-calibrate routine in SmartSDR that in a few seconds adjusts to within a fraction of a hertz of WWV. I have found the stability of my 6500 to be excellent.

    It translates to +/- 0.5 ppm — that is, 0.5 Hz per MHz. That's +/- 1Hz at 160m, +/- 5Hz at 30m, +/- 25Hz at 6m.
