Display Settings: Persistence, Global Profiles or What?

Based on other community discussions, I wanted to reduce the FPS rate on my display to give my computer CPU a rest.  Adjusting the FPS down appears does in fact reduce the CPU load as observed on the Windows 10 Task Manager.

My problem is the Display FPS setting does not stay where I put it when making a band or a Global Profile change, and  I have to again move the FPS lower.

I have studied the SDR manual for version 3.1.8 under the "Persistence" section and the "Global Profiles" section. It is clear as "mud" which controls the display FPS setting.  It appears to me, that the Display FPS setting is controlled by the selected Global Profile??

So...I gave this a try and saved each of my Global Profiles after setting the Display FPS lower.    There must be another angle to getting the Display FPS to stay low, as, again, when I changed the Band or Global Profile, the Display FPS returned to its very high level.

Question - How do I set up my Smart SDR, 3.1.8, so that the Display FPS stays where I want it, rather than returning to a very high level?

    Hello Alan-
    I am on 3.1.8, like to run 100% AVG and 10% FPS and since I do not use waterfall 0 on Rate. Set everything up, Highlight the profile name and hit Save. When double clicking that profile name the AVG,FPS and Rate are just as saved. To retrieve these settings the saved profile name must be double clicked. Using the band buttons will not retrieve the settings in the profile. Sounds like this is what you are doing, however, without seeing your exact steps it's had to say why it's not working for you. Hope this helps.

        I believe that you must set the FPS and WF rate for each band  in each of the panadapters before you save the global  profile. ( Don't forget to export profiles when you have it the way you want. )

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
