Maestro wil not stay "OFF" (When the wall wort is attached)

My model "A" Maestro will not stay off.... When powered by the wall wort, it keeps booting up! How can I get it to STAY OFF?  I keep power on it to overcome the poor engineering that requires the internal battery to keep being charged... I wonder who the brain child is that designed that "feature"?

    The only way to keep that from happening is to put the wall wart on a UPS. If power is interrupted the Maestro boots up when power is restored.

    Make sure you lower the brightness to the lowest setting... Because on top of all of that you cab get burnin if the screen stays on for a long time with the same image.

    My Maestro sometimes reboots on batteries a few minutes after I shut it down.

    I don't believe the Meastro is meant to be on charge 24/7. But it does require charging at times so the internal battery does not go dead for an extended times.

    "The Brain child that Designed this feature"  was DELL's windows tablet designer's
    I would also try the wall wart on a UPS to see if it still does it, if it does then you may want to try it on a external 12V Power supply to see if it is the Wall Wart or something in the Maestro.

    It seems the answer is.. I have no clue. I've tried the power supply fail route without any joy. It seems the closest answer is only power it up now and then (other than when using it) to keep it going. Dell seems to have some poor thinking here, say it isn't so...hihi. The Maestro seems to be the problem, maybe time to sell it to someone that will use it every day. Thanks for your time....

    You can get a quote from Flex to repair it or if your capable to do it you may try opening the case and checking the interconnect cables between the tablet and the Knob board which are Micro USB connectors., 
    possible one of the cables has vibrated partially out or the female charge port connector has a broken solder joint where it is soldered to the Knob board.

    Make sure that the DC connector on the rear of the Maestro and wall wart is good and tight.   If you by chance are not using a wall wart that did not come from Flex,  make sure it has enough current to charge and run the Maestro.   Sounds like the wall wart (I would use your station DC supply instead)  is not able to keep up with the total current,  maybe dropping out on you, causing the Maestro to boot up (loss of DC input power) ..
