Mic Profile on 6400M

When I first got my 6400M we set up a MIC Profile for my Shure mic ( 9 months ago). Everything worked fine. About a week ago, I noticed the Mic Profile we set up was gone, no where to be found. Does anyone else have this problem...I thought it would remain in the list of profiles.
In the interim the radio is using Default and it appears from QSO's that my signal and audio is great.
Is it important to have a separate profile for your MIC?
Not sure how to create a new one again, as it has been some time. Will it make a difference in my signal?
Thanks for any experience or input you may offer.

Harry. I'm not sure what happened to your profile. the best thing to do is save your profiles so you can simply bring them back in the event of something happening. I keep my saved profiles on a thumb drive to keep them safe.
You can go into profiles and select mic profiles,,it will let you create a new profile there.
Lets say you have two different mics. It is best to create a mic profile for both. Customizing the EQ to your voice is important, and each mic will have a different Freq response as well.

If you did a hard reset at anytime it deleted your mic profiles that is why it important to export your profiles ever so often so you can put them back on easily

Bret, not sure if a hard reset occurred. Where and how could the profile be saved and exported so as to be reinstallable at a later date?0

Bill, I thought it was saved-I use one mic only Would the default profile be just as good as one I made for the mic?0
