disappearing slice receiver

I have a 6600M and SSDR 3.18.145. Suddenly, yesterday, when I am on, say, 20m, and use the band select buttons on SSDR to go to 40M, the slice receiver that was there has disappeared. I can create it, set the freq and mode, etc., go to 20m, come back, and the panadapter does not change, but the slice receiver disappears, and audio stops. If I go back to the previous band, the slice receiver reappears, life is normal. I can cycle this scenario all day long with the same result.
In addition, I notice that once in awhile I lose connectivity with WSJTX. I get the "rig control error" message but when I go to WSJTX configure, TEST and PTT work normally and then life continues normally...until the next time!
All this started yesterday. I had not noticed but the log shows that on one of my reboots (before this started, I think) I was pushed a WIndows 10 update. Sigh..
Does any of this ring a bell with anyone??

any time i make change, I must resave the profile or make a new one, depicting the change. that way I can call it up and reload that new setting

Resetting the persistence database did the trick, so far. It is basically a profile export, a reset of the radio, and an import of the profile. Details here https://helpdesk.flexradio.com/hc/en-us/articles/200831185-How-to-Reset-the-Persistence-Database-for-a-FLEX-6000
