I am using a 6700 on six meters with a 1.8 SWR if I change the antenna to port B the SWR on the Flex meter goes off the chart and the power folds back...no ATU on either and the set up is exactly the same just changed ports.... the ATU does not work very well on six anyway on either port

If you connect the 6meter coax to Ant b the SWR is high?

Are you physically changing the antenna coax from a to b or just switching on the radio??0
-
Are you switching to a port that has no antenna connected?0
-
I am just unplugging the coax and connecting it to the B port... no changes0
-
Port B is a receive only port I think. The transmit antennas ports are 1 & 2 on my 6700 not A and B.

When you change the coax to a different output connection are you also changing the antenna specified for the slice as well?
If you don't change the antenna selection for the active slice then the radio is still looking for the coax to be connected to the original output connection. It's a 2 step process.

It depends on who is speaking... some call them A and B as does 4O3A or 1 and 2 as Flex does... all the same thing0
-
Yes I change the assignment0

Have you tried a dummy load to see if there is still a difference?
That would definitely narrow the problem.

@Bruce AH0U - is this unique for you on 6m only, or are you seeing a difference on other bands is switching thing between Ant 1 and Ant 2 ?
Thinking either way you might open a Help Ticket - that way FRS can dig in and see if you have something specific to your setup going on or something generalized that you've come across.
One thought if antenna port B (or if you prefer Ant 2) is always different, that you might have an issue to track down there. Again FRS can help you figure out if there is a ESD issue or something else.
@All - has anyone duplicated the issue AH0U has found when they tried following his description? I didn't find it on the one radio I have easy access to this morning.
