Mobile Revisited - F3K

Hello all.

I've just come upon a Flex 3000 that I don't need but bought anyway.

My IC-706MKIIGahdjagd$$%&hgjadkldskfh in the truck has been acting wonky lately, and so I looked around on here and didn't really find - Is there some reason I shouldn't replace the Icom with the 3000?  Put it under the seat, mic, spkr, ant, Thunderbolt, iPad mini on handsfree mount, Voila!   HF & 6 mobile.

What are the pitfalls here?

A Flex-3000 runs PowerSDR, which truthfully I’ve not much followed since mothballing my Flex-5000 when my 6700 arrived. I’m not certain your hardware has a PowerSDR client available? 73 Steve K9ZW Blog: http://K9ZW.wordpress.com

And the laptop needs to have Fire Wire connection.
