If you want to stop Windows update, put your Ethernet adapter or WiFi adapter in metered mode. It works great!

I had no driver problems with the May cumulative update...actually don't think I've had a problem since last summer's 'feature update'. I've just made sure that SSDR/CAT/DAX are not running when I do the updates. I effectively disable automatic updates by setting the active hours to the maximum and leaving the computer/rig running 24/7. I usually get a warning the a restart is required and will be done outside of active hours, at which point I shut down SSDR and do a manual restart.
