A Mesh System that has been working good with my Flex-6000s - Amplifi

I've been using an Amplifi Mesh system with good success, and just added a fiber link to my radio room.  https://k9zw.wordpress.com/2019/05/14/internet-by-fiber-ethernet-to-the-radio-room/  The main internet is cable modem Comcast/Xfinity.  

When I installed the Amplifi I wrote https://k9zw.wordpress.com/2019/02/24/mesh-systems-for-the-shack-ubiquitis-amplifi-in-the-new-k9zw-shack/ covering the basics.

Wishfully I had hoped to bridge the distance from the main house to the radio room in the workshop, but found the WiFi link unreliable and slow.  Then when I decided to replace my radio room's windows - https://k9zw.wordpress.com/2019/04/06/another-kind-of-radio-room-windows/ - my Wifi went from marginal to impractical https://k9zw.wordpress.com/2019/04/08/more-windows-adversity/ due to the energy efficient glazing.  

I haven't found the extra investment for the "Gamer's Edition" of much value, and buying everything again I would go all with the white units.  The "Gamer's Edition" won't let you add additional Mesh Point hardware, requiring use of one of the RAMP options, which of course are pricier than adding more wall plug-in Mesh Points.  

Not inexpensive, but very much cheaper than wiring the large new house with Ethernet.

YMMV and I haven't tried the competitor Mesh Systems, as I based the purchase on experience with the Amplifi's parent Ubiquiti products at my work.

    Nice write up. I too use Ubiquiti but have standardized on the enterprise Unifi product line rather than the consumer oriented Amplifi. The Unifi line has indoor as well as outdoor access points that are power over ethernet enabled so only one wire to supply data and power. I have been able to easily mesh and link outdoors to my remote shack 300 ft (100 meters) away from the main house. Outdoor signal ranges are typically over 500 ft+ (150 meters) in my rural setting to a typical iPhone or laptop. Trees and foliage are the true wireless range killer for me. The initial Unifi set up is a bit more complex but you will be rewarded with better performance, distance and enterprise dashboard management/metrics.

    Thank you - and just a quick note the two Ubiquiti product lines can work together, but each would have its own identity, as I had asked if I could add the weatherproof Mesh Points from the commercial Ubiquiti to my Amplifi system.  

    I picked their wireless product line, as the cabling to each access point was a problem.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor.
