How do we use dax and cat in v3 with a local and renote radio?

My friend an I are both trying to use my radio to make contacts at the same time.  How do we setup and/or control DAX and CAT in V3 under these uses? We tried and his use changed the mic audio to PC on my control panel, which of course, prevented me from using he radio?
