DIY Automatic Remote Multi Transveter Interface for Single XVTR Port

edited June 2020 in New Ideas

Hello,

I thought I would share a project that I am working on to provide switching of multiple transverters from the single XVRT port on the 6400. I am sure there are simpler ways to do this such as using DPST relays for the RF switch. However, this seemed to be something I was more comfortable with and I already had the SaniSwitch relay. I found the Chinese DIY remote antenna switch kit on ebay and felt this would make a sensible combination and provide isolation for the rf inputs to the transverters. I will post the USB Cable settings from SmartSDR once I complete the project and fully test for proper operation. I will be using the inexpensive Transverter Store devices for this project.

Any comments or suggestions would be welcomed.

Don

Very cool Idea and it interest me quite a bit but your Pictures are pretty low res and blurry, can you send the pictures on google share or something maybe to wx7y@arrl.net that has better resolution.

Thanks so much and great Idea

This might be of interest to you:
    https://www.w6pql.com/automatic_transverter_interface.htm

This unit does all of the above and automatically selects the transverter and no actual mechanical relays. I have already ordered the board (months ago but no time to finish it) and am finally putting the box together. Mine will be rack mounted. Maybe I will post pictures once done.

It can also be stacked, as in 2 sets which I am considering as I may pickup a 902 (33cm) transverter at some point as well as a 23cm one.

I use IF A for 630m experimenting, IF B for VHF transverters and Receive A for my AOR loop so pretty filled up! If you are active on VHF/UHF and like to have the waterfall on them, a switch is a must. Let us know how it goes.
