Dear all. 1st post on the Community.
I need help to configure the Flex 6400 for band data (and PTT) on my amplifier RF Power HVLA 1K3.
https://www.rfpower.it/pdf-hvla1k3-plus.html
I'd like to use a USB to DB9 cable (FTDI).
Maybe some of you can guide me through the process and configuration? I'm not good in these things
Thanks in advance.

Hello Fred,
As we had discussed try Kenwood with the USB to serial. What I am not sure about is whether you need a straight through or null modem cable. I am guessing a straight through cable is what you need.

I have a Tokyo Hy-Power amplifier with a Kenwood band input. I made the cable described below that works with the Flex Usb cable.
DB9 Female ------------------- DB9 Male
Pin2 ---------------------------------Pin3
Pin3 ---------------------------------Pin2
Pin5 ---------------------------------Pin5 (ground)
Also connect Pin6 to Pin 8 on the male connector

Thanks Tom. So its a null modem as described hereattached https://www.decisivetactics.com/support/view?article=crossover-or-null-modem-vs-straight-through-serial-cable0
