6600M touch keypad

Did anyone else experience any issue with the on screen keypad for 6600M? In my case, a typical issue I see is when I try to create a new profile for transmit or global. It usually takes at least 2-3 tries to get to a point where I have both the cursor at the right place and the on screen keypad open.
Other times I can see the keypad but no focus on the text box so I can’t type where I am trying to type or sometimes the cursor is at the right place, but no on screen key pad available. And ofcourse the other times it works.
Just wondering if this is a feature, user error or bug!

I've had the same thing happen on my 6600M since I got it. I don't think it's a screen hardware issue, because tapping other things on the same area of the screen work fine. I've just learned to live with it as a minor annoyance.

On my 6400M have to tap multiple just to get the key pad to stay up.1

Yes I reported this back in March shortly after receiving the 6400M. It has not been addressed yet.0

I agree the touch interface has some issues as far as human input for certain items. One thing you could do is use SmartSDR for windows to pre-program your settings into the radio. not a fix but a solution that works for me personally. Depending on your personal situation, I dont think the touch screen is defective, but some of the selections can be perceived as counter-intuitive or difficult. If you suspect your display is not working correctly, please open a helpdesk ticket with flex to diagnose.

The issue is not the touch display the issue is with the M series software/firmware honoring the interupt generated when touching the area to show the keyboard. There is a noticible lag between the touch to bring up the keyboard and the keyboard actually showing like the processor in the radio is too busy doing other things and puts your touch to bring up the keyboard in a ill get to it when i can line of things to do. Thats why sometimes if you press at just the right time it works other times not so much.1

It’s not counter intuitive per say but it’s the event handling capability of your graphics processing engine or whatever is processing the touch events from the screen. It’s a bit erratic.0

Could not have put it better myself. That’s exactly what I am experiencing as well.0

I see the same behavior. Fortunately, I do not need to bring the keyboard up very often...
