Transmitter RF getting into ethernet
Comments

Inadvertently while rushing around, yes, and the RF into the shack lit the place up. It was unpleasant. That bump from a balanced feedline to coax seems like a big deal. I have seen some say that you don't really need the choke but I think unlikely to work well.By the way I am using a current choke 1:1. I've never tried 4:1 but suspect the result would be a low impedance at the tuner, on some bands, that would be out of range.$50 isn't a bad price from that company.Good luck with your installation.0

Good discussion RF interference and grounding issues can get tricky when you mix coax, ethernet, and multiple cables in a rig like this. If you’re replacing or re-terminating coax feedlines, I find using a proper coax crimper (not cheap pliers or makeshift tools) makes a big difference. A reliable crimper helps ensure solid connector crimps, shielding integrity, and minimizes unintended RF leaks which might help avoid some of the weird RF/grounding issues you’re seeing.
