    This is our life. But simplification is a way out from headache, FRS was a first who proposed API, but world till now playing with CAT/COM/USB/SB/VAC etc....nightmare depends on Windows pack

    Yes, Sergey. I agree that proliferation of these kinds of standards is inevitable. Still as an end-user I prefer it, to being stuck with the old standards where every little function needed its own cable and handshaking protocol, or even worse changing pins inside the case to change settings. I like that the modernization of such communications tends to effectively utilize the higher bandwidth cables available today.
    As a programmer, it doesn't matter too much; I sort of expect that every manufacturer will completely ignore all other standards and cobble something together themselves that suits their specific hardware.
