v2 Sneak peek

With previous versions of SSDR, Tim at Flex has issued "sneak peek" info on new features, improvements and release notes.
When will we see this as a preamble to V2. Many people will want time to consider what is/isn't included prior to parting with upgrade dollars.

I'm certain that you don't have to buy v2 immediately after its release. I'm getting pretty itchy as well, so I understand the tension. 8^)0

Not yet. We are finalizing the release. Once we have a stable RC (release candidate) version in the hands of the alpha team, we'll start a more detailed information release.0

My expectation of V2 with the exception of WAN support and snap out windows is a software package similar to the current version. Its just the next foundation to build on.
I am not a remote user so I am not looking for much new. Could be wrong
I just hope someday that engineering can turn the M display into something cool while running SmartSDR.

SmartLink is the "killer app" that a lot of folks desire. I think its ease of use will live up to that billing. But it is only the beginning. The initial 2.0 release also contains a lot of performance enhancements and corrected defects that will find their way into the 1.x code. When we do a major feature like SmartLink, it touches a lot of code. It can expose inefficiencies that we have to address and that makes for a better all around product. The work we did for contesting in 1.x had the same effect.
We have a lot of cool things we are considering for the other 2.x releases. One we have committed to is multi-client, the ability to use SmartSDR for Windows and Maestro (or an M model) at the same time. Others I'm not at liberty to discuss publicly yet.
SmartSDR v2 is a stronger foundation due to the continued maturity of the software. V3 will be even stronger. It is the value we are building into the software product life cycle.9 -
