Computer remote software

I know this is probably a silly question but will ask anyway. Is it possible just using a Maestro to remote into another Flex Radio via the internet while waiting for the new radio to get shipped? As an example when you use remote computer software to remote into another computer.

Currently, if you have a VPN set up and the radio you are trying to control has a VPN and you have been given access to it, you should have no trouble using a friends Flex.

Most of the time it isn't just a matter of having access to the radio via a Maestro or a computer.  Most stations have a lot of other functions that you just won't have access to.  Things like, powering on and off the Flex, powering on/off the 12v dc going to the Flex in case the thing freezes, amplifier, tuner, antenna switches, rotor control, etc.

If your friend has a simple setup meaning a Flex hooked up to a single multiband antenna then you should have very little trouble.  You won't be able to turn it on or off or cut the power to it when it locks up though.

With the new SmartLink software which will be released very soon it Is very Easy to do with you what you are asking. A friend would give you a set of login credentials which will allow you to access his radio. A few quick clicks and you were on the air! Mack W4AX Alpha Team
