Maestro - Dell venue 8

Will the Maestro app run on a Dell Venue 8 tablet?   I know this is the heart of the Maestro box, but does it actually need the knobs and sliders to run and be usable?   I have installed the full SSDR already, but just considering options.

Steve Why not just run SmartSDR on the tablet. Would that work? (Sorry, I don't know what operating system the Tablets run). Mike

It should run on a windows 7, 8 or 10 tablet. The only issue I see is the text being too small.

Btw https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio/topics/has_anyone_tried_smartsdr_on_the_dell_venue_8_pro As long as it is WINDOWS and not android it should be fine. You won't have any knobs but that doesn't seem important to you.

The answer is no because the Maestro application is not available to be installed on any other device and if it was, it will error out when it cannot find the Maestro hardware to initialize.

Thanks Tim. That is what I expected, just wanted to check first.

I'm sure the spec is fine to run SSDR on the Venue 8 (2gb, W10, quadcore). But I suspect trying to use the full SSDR on it (W10 at 1280x800 resolution) will be too small and impractical for some of the the tiny controls/sliders. Will also try scaling options and report back.

If you want to run something other than SSDR for Windows on a tablet, and have an iPad or even an iPhone, try SSDR for IOS.  It is awesome!  K6TU's Remote app is also a great piece of software.
