When will Maestro be able to connect to hidden SSID's?

I would like to be able to configure a hidden SSID in my Maestro. I have seen other posts similar to this one which Tim replied to: https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio/topics/maestro-wifi-on-hidden-networks I get the perspective of hidden SSID's does not stop the real blackhat types. When will the SmartSDR software running on the Maestro be able to connect to hidden SSID's? Is this something on the 2.0 road map, or is it even being considered? Thanks ! 73, Frank N3FRP

    Will the Maestro stay connected to the router if you hide the SSID after connecting?

    It would be ridiculous to have to unhide, connect then hide. It would seem to not be hard to associate with hidden SSID's. IMHO

    There are no immediate plans to add support for SSIDs that are not broadcasted.

    Frank,

    Hiding an SSID doesn't gain you security, I just ran a scan of my neighborhood, I see 4 hidden networks. Choose higher security and a strong passphrase and avoid typical channels and you'll be fine.

    @N3FRP. am sitting in a Bar in the south of France. Just read this thread so I scanned the area using the Airport Utility App (available on iTunes) on my iPad. Found 2 hidden networks .. It did not take long to access them... I don'tthink I am current enough as a programmer to qualify as an official Black Hat Confirmed - Hidden Networks are easy to find and **** --more seriously they give you a FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY as even an old non Blackhat kid with an iPhone can find and **** them.

    Thanks for all the input. I should have prefaced the question with "I know that hiddening does little to protect the wireless AP. I am using WPA2 with MAC address level security for assigning IP addresses, and OTHER things. Again, thanks to all for the freedback. 73, Frank N3FRP

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor.
