Tim I have the same problem with 40m on my ipad. But on windows no problem. Is this also a atu memory problem?

Reading this thread with all its mathematics and engineering jargon reminds me of a QSO I had with CX5RV (G5RV) long ago. I complained about the antenna. He told me that the G5RV in it's various forms, and there were many, was an experimental antenna and no dimensions are meant to be the correct ones for any given circumstance.

If you are using that antenna or a variant of it and it works where you want it to, you have it correctly configured. If not experiment.

The last thing he said about it was that if you have an SWR meter, throw it away.

Don't forget these were the days of the vacuum tube. If your SWR got high the shack just got brighter.

If you have a solid state final consider using an antenna tuner.
