Transverter USB operation

Hi Everyone... question. I just finished building and aligning 2 Elecraft transverters (XV144 and XV432) been testing and playing with them and discovered something and I do not know if it's the transverter or the FLEX 6500.
The transverters will transmit all day if I have the FLEX in FM or NFM modes, now without changing frequencies I switch to USB and try to transmit I get ZERO output, FLEX keys, transverter keys but no output... am I missing something here?
Here is what I have discovered:
FM, 20 watts output
AM, 4 watts output
CW, ZERO output
USB, ZERO output
DSTAR, 20 watts output (yes I have the thumbDV)
WHAT is going on?
In the ELecraft Transverter Specs it says it will work on the following modes: CW, SSB, AM, FM, Digital Modes
Thanks for the replies

David,
I have used the Elecraft transverters in the past with the older Flex 1500 with no issues at all. They work great on all modes. Your situation sure sounds like the radio has no RF output in SSB or CW at the transverter jack. Do you have a way to check that? Try monitoring the transverter input frequency on those modes with another receiver, and double check that the xvtr really is being keyed. It usually is something very simple.
Hope this helps.

Ahh... got it.. thanks guys.. made me think a bit.. yes I had output when tuning. I was having output just the program (WSPR) was not outputting enough to even see a watt and my meter was not picking it up, adjusted slider to 1 full watt output and it's working..
