dxpedition and the internet connection

When operating dxepition etc. How do you get the internet connection? Satellite? 
Just an old timer trying to understand.

    Typically INMARSAT and a BGAN self contained terminal.

    Has coverage to about 60N and 60S although at the limits its coverage is intermittent and even lower bandwidth.

    Yep, Google is your friend.  It's not inexpensive but in the overall cost structure of a DXpedition (at least today's versions), its a rounding error.

    If you're asking how a 6000-series could be used in DXPedition environments, no internet is required. Minimal LAN infrastructure only.
