CAT & Profiles issue

Member ✭✭
edited March 2017 in SmartSDR CAT
When changing Profiles applications connected to CAT can become disconnected from CAT I have multiple Profiles set up for multiple WSJT instances; when changing Profiles several of the instances become disconnected from CAT. Otherwise great job!

Log trace when a disconnect occurs during Profile Switching:

Which profile are you changing?  Global, TX or Mic?

    Bill,
Are the CAT ports defined on Slices that perhaps don't exist on these other profiles?  Check the CAT ports and see which Slice they are assigned (Port Edit Menu).

No. The port works until the profile is changed

What I'm asking is with which Slice are the CAT Ports associated?  Each CAT Port is associated with a Slice, like Slice A, for example.  If you have a CAT Port associated with Slice C and you load a profile that doesn't have a Slice C, this could cause the issue you are describing.  You can find which Slice a CAT Port is associated in the SmartSDR CAT Main Window.

The new profile has the same ports as the previous. There is a problem with WSJT and changing profiles. Say I have 4 JT sessions running on 160m - 30m and switch to a profile 20m - 10m, one or more of the JT sessions will disconnect from the assigned CAT port. Tim is looking at the problem.

I am working on this with Eric, so his questions are most applicable in trying to figure out what is happening.

How many Slices are present on the 160m - 30m profile?  How many on the 20m - 10m?

It sounds like you have at least 4 CAT ports defined to talk to the 4 JT sessions and each of those has a Slice with which it is associated (see the letter on the CAT Port definition in the SmartSDR CAT Main Window).

A screen shot of the CAT window might be beneficial.

Eric dropped you a note about a remote access session.  That should supersede any of my requests.
