Serial PTT input for remote operation ...

i just wake-up and realize that in smart cat it only have PTT output 
whit  RTS or DTR output  to radio ...   

for remote operation it may nice to have input on  CTS or DRS or  even CD  Pin  
so permit to use a "local" PTT switch  ( a simple pull-up on CTS and vola !!  )

and not think it big deal to implement that in software 

ok it still possible to create virtual serial and make it, but  better to have it strait on Smart CAT

    This feature already exists in FRStack.
    Go to www.mkcmsoftware.com then click the FRStack link.
    The documentation for FRStack explains what you need to do.

    Mark you have do a great job on your software but
    usually i try to not rely on third party software as much as possible
    have already to much software running on my work PC ;-) 

    the good news is that i already build my USB  PTT switch  
    FTDI cable or board was nice and easy ....

    Do you have any more info to share regarding your remote PTT switch build?  I've very interested in building one, because I am primarily a foot switch and boom mic operator for contests.  This is the one missing feature for remote operations, that I really need.

    FTDI USB to UART cable  
    http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/TTL-232R-5V-WE/768-1029-ND/2003494

    then a 10K resistor between RED and Brown Wire (may 1K to 100K it not really care)
    put BROWN wire to GND ( Black wire)  to TX

    normally when PTT presed the" CTS"  button go Green   ;-)

    That the schematic     but please note that Mark - AA3RK  software support  only
    DSR pin that not available on FTDI cable  ,so still no magic solution image

    The solution that FRStack currently offers is identical with the exception I used a USB to RS232 and chose the DSR pin. With that said using a USB to FTDI and the CTS is a minor change to FRStack.

    FRStack provide a large number of features that enhances the Flex experience.

    Are you interested in testing and using FRStack if this change was made?

    If yes, please contact me via my email address listed on www.mkcmsoftware.com so I can work with to test this change.

    If not, I will add this option to a future release of FRStack once I obtain a USB to FTDI device.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu.
