Remote operation setup for BEGINNERS

This community forum is great and has helped me a lot but some of the advice is difficult for me to follow as a novice computer person. Can someone help me or direct me to a step by step guide to help me setup my 6700 running SDR 1.51 under Windows10 for remote operation both LAN now and then WAN.? Some have asked about a "dummies" guide for setup for certain things and I agree. In these things I am learning but still a "dummie"!

I am a relative newbie myself but might be able to help some. Before I jump in what modes are you interested in?
Tell me a little about your LAN setup at your QTH?

Primarily 95% HF SSB and occasional digital. My 6700 is connected to my PC via direct ethernet cable obviously but I connect to the Internet through wireless Wi-Fi to my Apple router/modem.0

You will need to have your Flex get an address from your router or assign one in the wired side of your router for a fixed IP address. Then you can take your laptop (Windows or Apple running windows) and connect to your Flex via WiFi. You will need to connect to it with one system at a time. So if your desk top is connected disconnect Radio,Cat,DAX before going remote.

From what I understand all Apple routers use dynamic( ?) addresses. Whether they do or not, what are the basic steps to have my 6700 get an address from my Apple Time Machine Router. Or if not how could I actually assign one?0
