I finally installed FreeDV and got it working. I tuned to 14.236 mHZ and after a few minutes I saw a signal. I had the waterfall going and to my surprise the person's call sign displayed in the waterfall at the start of the transmission. Has anybody else seen that? Is that the default for FreeDV?

    I have also seen this "Video Text" in other digital software such as EasyPal and Fldigi.

    Yes if the user has entered his call into the script area..  By the way, the text display is totally different of that displayed in EasyPal and FLdigi.

    I just installed FreeDV. I was impressed that it seems to install in the radio, not the PC. This means that it works from any of the PCs on my LAN with no additional interfaces or cables. It works with the same MIC & speakers attached to the radio in local mode & the PCs' MICs & speakers in remote mode.

    To me this means many more modes can be added given adequate memory in the radio.

    Can someone at Flex give the group an idea of how much memory is available in each 6000 radio & a sense of how many other additional modes might be possible? Are any others planned?

    I don't think your question got answered, the call you saw in the waterfall was coming from the EasyPal ,  digital Pix folks on 14.233.    Now in FreeDV if you have the FDV app open,  you will see some folks with their calls and basic info displayed in the FDV window display.   At this time the Waveform version we currently have,  it is broken for us to enter in data, but from the regular FDV folks you will see their information..

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
