Shut down sequence

What is the difference in shutting down the 6000, radio first then closing the software or vice versa? What are the implications of either method? What is the proper method?

The best sequence is to shut the SW down first, in fact start with any applications such as HRD or DDUtil if you use them then the SmartSDR SW.  Shutting down the radio first will get you a message from SmartSDR that the connection was lost.  I do not believe that there is any harm to either radio or SmartSDR  when the radio is shutdown first.  Since the release of 1.4 the radios states seem to be saved nicely now.

Would it be correct to infer from that then that the radio is always the first thing to start and the last thing to shut down?
Start up sequence would then be: radio on ~> SmartSDR started ~> 3rd Party Apps (to use with the radio chain)
Shut down sequence would then be: 3rd Party Apps ~> SmartSDR ~> radio

    Thanks,

Yes, Mark... that would be the appropriate startup sequence as well.
