I wonder if Flex has considered implementing Controlled Envelope SSB in the flex 6700?

I read they done some development work in this area in the past and as it seems to be largely a software thing I thought it would make a good addition?

I "know" CE-SSB is in there...

Checking the previous release notes from V 1.2.17., I believe it is called Downward EXPander (DEXP). :

The release note has some important information about setting mic-gain levels that are relevant in the current s/w. It is a must read.

The QEX article also eludes to it being in SSDR:

CE-SSB is different from Envelope Tracking that sets the PA voltage to a setting for maximum efficiency based on the instantaneous power. The interested student will Google "Envelope Tracking" for further details.

The CE-SSB speech processor has been in SmartSDR for several versions. It is the PROC feature.
