v1.4 starts with no visable slice open.

Using Flex 6300 running V1.4 on a Window 7 laptop. When I first start smartsdr it comes up without any panadapter. I have to close smartsdr and start it again to get a panadapter. I have also had it lock up on me when I was looking at the internet for about ten minutes. When I came back to smartsdr the screen was locked up. I still had audio from the radio.

Happens to me too, not every time but most. Windows 7 with a direct ethernet connection pc->Flex 6300. Like you say audio is there and also if you 'add a slice' a panadapter comes up with a slice B but no A.

I also have the same behavior, using Windows 7 with an HP laptop. I need to restart Smart SDR. It has started with v1.4.
I guess it is not an isolated behavior.
PS. I love this 6300 !!

I would update your graphics drivers as a first step.0

I have checked and it is running the latest driver available.

Make sure the drivers are from the company making the video card and NOT a Microsoft driver.0

I was able to induce a phantom Slice-A that I could not find nor get open. Yet I could hear it and any other created received was "B" even though the "A" was not to be seen.
Complete power down reboot did the trick to clear it up.
Thinking here it was my experimentation with very low-resource client PCs that was the cause.

I can also report just having experienced this. Similarly using the latest drivers.
I was originally thrown by this as I had not seen it before. Also had to select a DAX channel for the 'new' slice (kudos for the latest version of DAX and the informative error message which was spot on).
@Bill - this was really an issue with Win XP; the drivers offered for Win 7 and up are from the hardware company, but maybe not the latest. In one case, a driver from WU on Win 7 was > 6 months more modern than the latest on the manufacturer's site.0
