Slice volume control

The volume control on a slice menu (page 120 current manual) does not control the volume of a slice for me. It does not seem to do anything much. The only way I have found to control the volume in SSDR is to use the slice's AGC slider. I listen through DAX on my PC so I can hear JT-Alert sounds as well as the signal audio.

What am I doing wrong here?

TIA.

DAX Levels are controlled by the DAX sub-panel, not the slice. Consider using the rear panel audio jack for monitoring signals, and DAX to interface with your digital mode apps. Computer speakers with two inputs are excellent investments

I suspect computer speakers don't make sense for a lot of people who don't have the radio sitting right next to the PC . My radio is racked-up in the basement, while the PC is wherever. SSDR has volume controls seemingly everywhere that don't do anything for the "remote" operator.

Hold this discussion for a couple of weeks.

Local LAN should include a remote audio component.  Then there will be remote feeds for both audio (???) and digital (DAX).  In the meantime use the DAX control slider or PC volume control, or run an audio lead from the Flex panel.

Exactly. Dax is meant for digital mode operating. ...not for remote audio. Remote audio should be out very soon (lan).
