ARRL DX CW
The 6700 performed very well in the ARRL DX CW contest. Unfortunately I had to shut down Saturday evening thanks to a lightning storm nearby. I operated with two panadapters open, one with slice A and the other slice B. Software for logging was N1MM with the radio selected as the Flex 5K 2RX. Using the pause key I was able to quickly bounce between the two VFOs/panadapters. This made going through multipliers very quick...then spots that were not multipliers. I did not use the IQ/Skimmers as N1MM only allows one telnet connection. Hopefully soon Ed, W2RF, will have a solution for this. One think I woul like to see added is an audio handling matrix. Some folks like to listen to both VFOs (or two radios in SO2R) at the same time. This is easily done by changing the sliders to left and right vice middle. But sometimes when running on one VFO the other was distracting. It would be nice if there were an option to: a. mute the non-active slice and automatically change when changing between slice A and B (always muting the non active VFO). b. monitor the inactive slice and mute the active slice during TX. It was a bit cumbersome having to go and make changes to the audio settings whenever I did a band change. The narrow CW filters were exceptional I think. I used 100 or 250Hz for S&P and 400 during runs. APF helped with some weak EU stations. 73 Greg AB7R

Hopefully the API will support CAT macros to control this as well, i.e. flip Left and Right audio channels between slices. That way you can assign control to a Fn key in N1MM Logger. I did this with PowerSDR and some non-SDR dual receive radios.
