Hello all I have come into the flex game very late and had my 6500 for a couple of weeks so I apologise if this topic has to been referred to before, I have took a look at all relevant posts but can't see my problem listed anywhere. My flex has been great apart from a few small issues listed in the forums about driving the Mic and levels ect but yesterday I fired up the smartSDR software up on my pc and as usual my flex was available in the list I clicked connect but the radio didn't connect right away it took about twenty seconds then the 6500 connected but with no signals on the pan adapter also the FPS was set at 1 the TX and RX EQ was set back to flat the radio would do nothing I think the RX at the top left was greyed out so I did a factory reset and it was fine. Today it happened again the same fault only a factory reset did not work I turned off the radio and power supply and left if for five minutes and tried again still no joy in the end I deleted smartSDR from the pc turned it off then reinstalled smartSDR and the radio has been okay again I had the problem with v1.0.5 also any help would be greatly appreciated. kind regards Keith M0PAW

Go to the General Tab on the Radio Setup application. See the IP address. Is the address in the scope of address assigned on your network? If it is in the range of 169.254 then your radio is not getting an IP address from your DHCP host. Not sure this is it, but worth checking. Phil0

Keith, I can recommend: let's downgrade radio to the 1.0.0 and keep you PC and radio separately into the you network just for testing, any results?0

Thanks for the information Sergey but at the moment all seems fine and everything is working as it should..0

Well, great Keith, this can be in case connection Radio<->SSDR lost after regular startup (ex cable disconnected, PC in sleep mode etc), also recommend look into: http://helpdesk.flexradio.com/entries/22439661-Optimal-Win7-High-Performance-Power-Options-for-PowerSDR-and-SmartSDR and http://helpdesk.flexradio.com/entries/22476447-Win7-Core-Parking-Optimization-for-Intel-i7-CPUs and check in DHCP server timer with adresses allocation0

Keith, Not sure how you have the radio and your computer connected to your network, but as Phil suggested, check the IP address, if the radio is connected to your network, it should obtain a IP address from your DHCP server, usually a router, if the address appears as 169.254.x.x then it missed the return address assignment.0
