RX Audio Profile Persistence

Member
edited June 2020 in SmartSDR for Windows
This is a small problem, but when recalling a receive audio profile from a cold start, it seems that it is not applied to the audio chain until one of the profile gain controls is changed. The profile gain controls are persisted, but just not applied to the audio. This was found using a 6500 with either V1.0.0 or V1.0.5 of SmartSDR To re- create this: 1 - Save a wild RX profile you can easily hear. Leave it OFF 2 - Close SmartSDR and power down the radio. 3 - Power up the radio and start SmartSDR 4 - Listen, then turn ON the RX profile. (you will hear no change) 5 - Move any of the RX gain profile controls. 6 - You should now hear the persisted profile. Hope that makes sense. 73 - John

I found on v. 1.0 that on some RX EQ profiles, only the particular slider would kick in after moving it. Sometimes I would have to adjust EACH one of the 8 before all of them would work. It was especially noticeable on 500, 1K, 2k, & 4k when I had extreme boost settings, such as those I used to overcome the NR's frequency cuts. I haven't noticed the same effect on 1.05, or at least it wasn't as bad. But I haven't been using it as much lately.

John, I have noticed the same thing and was waiting for 1.05 to see if it was fixed but it is still working exactly as you noted. Regards, Al / NN4ZZ

Please please make the number one thing to fix is ALL persistence functionality before anything else. This really makes using the radio a chore rather than enjoyable. 73 Greg

I have entered this behavior in as a software defect into our bug tracker for further investigation. Thanks for the report and especially the steps to reproduce it.

I have noticed the same issue with the RX EQ persistence not being recalled. So I still have to move each of the sliders as before.... Dennis, k0eoo
