The flex 5000 has some controversy concerning the best distance between computer and radio . Does this apply to the flex 6700 ? should the radio be close to the router and computer or father away in my case around 7 or 8 feet ? Will I need to order a better Ethernet cord form Granit digital ? Just trying to prep my station while the little elves assemble my 6700 . John kb2huk

John, There is no distance sensitivity or quality of cable issues with the. I operate my radio from the house - about 300' of cable (at least) between a couple of Ethernet switches and zero issues. Regular CAT5 cable does the job fine. Stu K6TU

No distance or cable problems. I've even operated my 6700 over WiFi.
